Here's a great thread of ways to help during this #BannedBooksWeek.

#BannedBooksWeek Captain Underpants was one of those books that teachers would never let us read because the cover gave them the "cringe"

In Platirius Infiltration, the royal female Platirians issue a decree to kill all the males and rule the planet.

I'm not suggesting this for American women, but it worked for the Platirians. 🤷‍♀️

Who decides what we can read? 📢

For #BannedBooksWeek, Zulfa Sakhiyya discusses book banning in Indonesia and how critical literacy can help students question censorship, examine dominant narratives, and reclaim agency as readers: buff.ly/azCkrwr

(Today in #BannedBooksWeek. I did not even try to participate in the Meme Theme. I have an outfit from years ago with the "Goosebumps Girl" -- that might have been its own Banned Books tie-in -- but I'm not actually sure where the books that I bought for the outfit ended up after moving rooms 2x.)

A woman with brown hair and blue glasses poses in front of a bookshelf. She is wearing a purple T-shirt with cover art from Toni Morrison's Song of Solomon on it and a shawl with colors of orange and purple, among others. Her face mask is teal with a pattern of orange cats sitting on books.

Argue with it in class, teach it with critique, just don't hide it from the students. 🚫

Are the book-haters getting weirder than usual about #BannedBooksWeek?

I just got an alert about someone ranting that Hyun Sook and I are propping it up to support the Chinese Communist Party?

Bro we support libraries.
