Ok this book is weird. It was a little too much of a fever dream experience for me but if you like it strange, I think you'll enjoy this. Awad's writing is beautiful, regardless.

The opening scene screams Joe Dante humour, and a topless woman confirms Roger Corman produced! Spirals into glorious, fun absurdity with Heather Menzies as the absolute MVP. She kept me laughing the whole time! Peak 70s creature feature.

Features: an attempt to escape a creepy underground labyrinth

A tile placement game that involves cooperative strategizing. I enjoyed how the mechanics of the game increased the feelings of tension, claustrophobia, and atmosphere!

An age old story about trying to decide if u should let a couple with a sick child through your electric fence but with a fun cultish twist. I enjoyed this one, but the ending lost me.

Features: a hot downstairs neighbor who's a plant girl

This was such a lush read and easy read to devour. A very character focused story but I didn't mind and I liked the slow reveal of each character's past.

It's very stream of consciousness which made it a hard movie for me to focus on. It's a trip, a fever dream, a deep dive into the psyche of a man and a phenomenally well made film.
