For a busload of tourists stopping in tiny Talkeetna, Alaska, on the road to Denali, this is an offer too good to pass up! Chalkboard sign on the one main business street in the unincorporated town of Talkeetna, Alaska, points to the bar at the nearby inn welcoming the tourists who stop in on buses.Aurora, sleeping in a sled at Nagley’s General Store in Talkeetna, Alaska, was the unofficial mayor of the tiny town until fairly recently. The current mayor is a husky who hangs at the pizza place. But I was told by one person that the election was held without telling Aurora and the result should not be valid! Stubbs the tabby cat had been longtime mayor of Talkeetna until passing in 2017. You can look it up.
