Citizenship as a legal concept doesn't exist. The House of Jobón houses some 1500 people, but that # waxes and wanes. There is movement between the three longhouses and some flow between the nearby Banyan community of maosa and themselves. 🧵 1/6

#TheDragonblood: Nemorian citizenship requires one to have undergone the ritual to be initiated in the Nemorian religion. The Soulless are not able to perform this ritual and cannot be citizens.

If you live and work there, that's enough.

There is no centralised bureaucracy to manage things like migration and monitor residency—not just in the city, but across the realm. Even the census doesn't happen on a regular schedule. It really is just, "Are you planning to stay or not?" 🧵

In simplest terms, citizenship in the Hidden Oasis requires you to be a member of the Mercenaries' Guild, or a relative of one.

Either of these characteristics automatically comes with a right to move into the Hidden Oasis, live 🧵

Immigration is the lifeblood of Zagnat. Its very soul is the land of second chances--the place that will embrace you and offer you asylum no matter how persecuted you are elsewhere. It's the heart of their industry--their master smiths and metalworkers came from distant lands.

Good morning, #Septopolis.

Today's question is on the card and a new one for 2026.

I'd like to save the post space to emphasize that these questions are for fictional worlds for any stray visitors. Fictional as they may be, this can be a touchy subject with real world impacts.

Be cool. Be chill.

A daily prompt card for #Septopolis 2026, hosted by @khonri.com.

Government & Civics, 25. How is citizenship (or whatever term is used) defined for this place? What are the steps for someone to immigrate, and how welcoming--socially and/or legally--and attractive is this place?

Interpret each prompt as suits your needs! Talk about relevant characters! Yap! Or don't! Develop a new city or whatever or talk about one you already built. Make friends.

The background features a slightly blurred and purple hued image of the upper section of a set photograph of Main Commercial Street in Fritz Lang's Metropolis (UFA, 1927) of towering buildings.

#Septopolis 24:

Public life in Wertham is under constant threat: gang violence, police overreach and (in the wealthier areas) overzealous private security. Even so, Pineslope's "party avenue" is always full of rowdy youngsters and block parties are a long-standing tradition in most neighborhoods.

West Harewood has plenty of third spaces! The Galleria is teeming with little nooks, teahouses and food courts, and the Public Works Collective's headquarters has a large hall filled with board games and sitting pillows. When it comes to hanging out, Folk are spoiled for choice.

24) Third Space

I think I mentioned the hololounge before. It's like a cybercafe that does more stuff! People go there to watch movies or shows, play games, or just chill and hang out. Most Alliance ships have a hololounge where the crew can relax in their off time.

So does Platypus.

A24. Ancus has Tia's Tavern -- essentially a motel during the day + dive bar that serves as an innocuous dwelling by day and turns into a essentially a queer bar at night (those who know, KNOW). See also: a restaurant, a large local library, a trade school and a hair salon/barber shop #Septopolis

With Belaqua being so tourist focused, the people who live there need their places where they don't have to be "on" all the time. So there are local speakeasies, small plazas and street gardens in the residential parts of the city, and regular outings to less frequented natural sites

The first blocks of Main Street, starting from the docks, are an open-air market 10 months of the year. It's a great place to wander and see goods from around the Known World, watch street performers, and so on.

And there are taverns, shops, and eateries throughout the nearby streets.

Definitely various inns, taverns, and mead halls. They are popular for that.

There are basically two classes of establishments for this: boarding houses and taverns.

Boarding houses are exactly as they sound—rent a room, amenities vary by price—but most have a parlour room and kitchen at street level open to the public, while the upper floors are for tenants. ⬇️

Kingsmount isn't like, a huge cultural center, but it has your usual taverns for your drinking and dancing needs, gentlemen's/ladies' clubs for your OTHER drinking and dancing needs, and one rather large building where a lot of the obscure subcultures hang out called Freetown.

There is often the Frank Shack where some plots happen. Along with that, there is a place in Episode 0 called the Pomegranate which is basically that arcade place from The Karate Kid.

And there’s malls and restaurants and pretty much other restaurants around.
