#FourHandsTwoSonatas (12 episodes)

- Engaging but heartaching story
- #SongKang and #LeeJunYoung nailed their roles and the chemistry 🔥
- Intense scenes and high emotion
- One of the most vile mom characters; the "adults" were mostly horrible

9.5/10

I blasted through #dynamitekiss #kdrama 14 episodes about an hour each.

3.5 stars something like Cinderella story.

A fun watch while I was waiting for more episodes to release. An observation, main lead looks like an anime character with his pointy nose and sharp profile.

I'm (still) watching Life is Beautiful, a 2010 weekend drama that had the first** lead gay couple in a mainstream #kdrama. There's so much misogyny in this show 🤬 but the gay relationship is sensitively portrayed.

**We haven't had another in the 20 years since 😒

🚨 While I've primarily written about Kang Pi-o as this is his story, this scene at the police station, where #LeeJunYoung does an exceptional job channeling the rage Choi Jeong-yo feels at Kang Pi-o taking away his ability to gain satisfaction from revenge, is epic.

🚨 When Choi Jeong-yo offers his hand to Kang Pi-o one feels it: love & acceptance, comfort & joy, that emotional connection & high felt between two musicians. Pi-o's fleeting smile says everything. He is so happy, but knows it won't last. It's all he is allowed.

Choi Jeong-yo reaches his hand out to shake Kang Pi-o's. His performance contained all the emotion that the composer wanted to express. 🚨 2/2 This stylist 👏! Mls' matching couple's wear with nuanced differences: Kang Pi-o is casually sexy with his shirt unbuttoned more to show his greater vulnerability/openness. Choi's harsher-collared shirt shows he is more closed off/guarded, but ever-so-slightly open.

🚨 1/2 For Kang Pi-o, love is synonymous with piano. From an early age, he found the piano he deeply loved was also the source of his mother's love & could be from others. At times demisexual, Pi-o can be pan or bi as love/sexuality/tension for him stem from music.

🚨 I disagree: depending on the crime's severity/type, it can taint their art. Being human, all artists are flawed, but flaws don't have to be criminal to make great art. To experience a perpetrator's "art" is deeply unsettling as an empathic retraumatization.

🚨 Art is many things, not only a metaphorical urn. No, society is not obligated to accept the art of a criminal, & in fact, society's rejection of it is our collective morality realized, our power to punish them on our terms through rejection & lack of attention.
