#hunger
that taunting feeling
hunger for life
hunger for death
hunger for food that
I cannot allow
to pass my lips
hunger for forgetting
hunger for remembering
hunger to feel that
sharp sting
on my skin
the juxtaposition
of human hunger
the taste for life
both sweet
and bitter

They rebuilt from
The ruins
After roiling waves
Broke the ballroom
And merry-go-round,
And the sea
Devoured many summers
With the #Hunger
Of a beast
That would not be sated...
Seagulls flew above
The fallen town,
And ghosts wept
From the debris
When the storm abated

Vat meat ended #hunger in 2058. Gran said it tasted of nothing because nothing wanted to eat it. She kept two hens in a wardrobe, illegally, and fed us eggs at dawn with the curtains shut. I still can't eat one in daylight. My kids think it's something you can only do at Christmas. #vss365

Ilyna didn’t thieve just for the loot. Not only to stave off #hunger, or to afford a bed for the night.
She thieved because she was good at it. It was fun and exhilarating. She thieved to stick a thumb in the eye of the stuffy nobles and merchants that thought their riches made them better.

The tarot card that resonates most strongly with the word #hunger is the Five of Pentacles.

It features two figures that wander, like unanswered prayers, seeking relief.

I've brought you
my head
Served up on a silver platter
Just as you've asked
But when you remove
The cloche
What you find is all red
And the size of a fist
Unfazed
You dig in
Sated
For not a moment
Throwing the platter
You scream
More
But I have nothing left
To offer
Yet
You hunger

What shall we #hunger for?
Justice and truth?
Freedom and liberty?
A hot meal and a roof?
What shall we thrist for?
Magic and love?
Vengeance and power?
To rise up above?
Are we able?
Appetites drive
Compare compromise
Find we all share the same table

A #hunger for knowledge
to see what is out there
it drives humankind
out to the stars

That noble purpose
to expand the universe
does not account
for the greed of man.

Hunting is far more than just feeding my #hunger; it's a #passion that fulfils my very soul.
I wait in the forests, at one with nature, hidden. I have to be patient, and skilled at ambush, because my prey is skittish and runs away if they sense a threat.
But humans are worth all the effort.

"Hey have you seen my jacket?"
"It's on a #hunger in the hunger."
"Sorry it's what where?"
"In The Hunger On a Hunger."
"... Are you hungry?"
"Yes!"
"We'll go to the restaurant just as soon as I find my jacket."
"ON! A! HUNGER! IN! THE! HUNGER!!"

This world leaves me wanting. I hunger for the kind of change only a devastating global war can accomplish, a reset, if you will. Let the useful and skilled rise to the occasion while the rest of us serve as fertilizer for their crops.
