#COP31, the country that facilitates the negotiations is #Australia, the host country is #Türkiye. Both countries wanted to host COP31, neither one wanted to step down. Now they share the #presidency. Australia is responsible for negotiations, and Türkiye, as the host country, for the cover decision

Women in Zenadth Kes (Torres Strait), who are experiencing the impacts of climate change firsthand, are coming together through community gatherings and online or phone yarns to: share their experiences; build knowledge; shape advocacy for a fairer energy transition. 1 Million Women’s ShePowers program supports and connects this community led work, creating opportunities for First Nation women to strengthen their agency as climate leaders and contribute their voices in the conversation that matter about Australia’s energy transition.

ShePowers by 1 Million Women. Rural and regional Australian women powering a clean energy transition. Change from the ground up. For 1 Million Women, change begins from the ground up. Around kitchen tables and in community halls, between friends and neighbours. This community-led approach is at the heart of their ShePowers program, designed to support regional and rural Australian women to become trusted climate leaders in their communities. The program also works in close collaboration with Climate Collective Zenadth Kes and Currie Country Social Change, First Nations women-led organisations bringing the lived experiences of climate change and energy transition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities into the national conversation.

Most co.s agreed to 3X renewables & 2X efficiency by 2030. RE is close, EE is off. Both still doable. But justice must also be part of the equation. Not even close. We can do better! We need more people power to make it happen.
