Our story takes place many lifetimes, yet still within one lifetime, before that. In the ten hundreds, the arcane hall was the centre of a settlement of witches. You would think that was a long time ago, but it's actually closer to today than to the extinction of the dinosaurs. For decades at this point, they have been working towards something with the help of the arcane hall - something that would change the course of history. To figure out what they were working towards, I refer you to reading the title again and really think about it hard. Now, the world of witches in the onetyfirst century may be foreign for people born after April of 1807, so I will jump in here and there to explain things.

Wasn’t she the wife of one of her cousin’s half-sisters? She tried to remember her name, but came up blank. “I know. I’m just…” What would Valir do? Didn’t he say that stacking too many lies on top of each other made stories unbelievable?
