I've been seeing a lot of creators get hacked, scammed, etc so I thought I'd compile a list of advice on avoiding scammers 💖

#Twitch #Discord #Twitter #Vtuberㅤ

RED FLAGS WHEN USING Twitch, Discord, etc Here's some tips on how to NOT get hacked or scammed. *not a guarantee List written by @KatieWhovian92 • "I accidentally reported your account. Click this link to help me fix it so you don't get banned." = NO. This is a scam and your account will very likely be hacked. • Any "cold DM" = a red flag. It will almost always end in some kind of scam. Even if they're polite at first and complimenting your profile pic, Vtuber model, etc the conversation will shift to something like "btw im an artist, you can see my portfolio at TotallyNotScammingYou.com" • DON'T DO ART BUSINESS THROUGH DMS! Always use a trusted service like Ko-fi or Vgen that not protects your personal details and is a lot better about getting refunds should anything not be satisfactory. • If a creator DMs you? Sorry but it might not be them. Take a close look at the username and profile details. If they don't match, it's a scam. • For Twitch streamers: If a chat message appears with any kind of phrasing like "buy follows" or "ai chatters" DON'T CLICK THOSE LINKS. Paying for stuff like that against TOS, and it leads to things like your account being hacked, identity theft, etc. • NO, the content creator with half a billion followers is NOT giving away free cryptocurrency or casino credits. Those images are 100% always scams. • "Free Discord Nitro" = Scam. • "Try my game" DM = Scam. • If you tweet anything like "omg I got hacked noooo" and an account comments anything like "oh I got hacked too, but if you message (insert random @ / username) they can fix it for you!" = those are also scams. Bonus tip: This isn't a scam but more an important tip for beginning Vtubers. You do NOT have to spend a ton of money to get started. It's even possible to get started for free. 💖

Might do a shiny hunt in a bit to forget all this Twitter BS. We go live at pure random a lot, but I do now use the Twitch channel a lot. So lets make this less angry, if you want to catch us live at some point check out www.twitch.tv/cartergamegeek #Twitch #Gaming #Stream #Livestream #Twitter

Can't even appeal again. That is locked and telling me to wait on them getting back to me, and they did get back to me, so that sucks, bot flags are the worse. All of this over trying to get our tiny YouTube channel noticed while posting photos of games and stuff we bought. #Twitter #Rant #X

@cartergamegeek.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 8:01 PM

To the surprise of nobody, the first appeal failed. And I don't have any on-screen instructions. Going to try later, I hate bot sweeps! Also the Reddit is still shadowbanned too by the way. #Twitter #Rant #Help #Suspended

If anybody cares feel free to help me with the Twitter thing. I know I post videos a lot, but our YouTube channel is small and I can tell you I'm not stealing anything. I'm just trying to get eyes on our stuff, it's my account, same goes for YouTube, and the Ace art was a gift. #Twitter #X #Rant

@cartergamegeek.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 7:07 PM

Well x.com/cartergamegeek was was reported and has been suspended for violating the X Rules. Specifically, for:
Violating our rules against inauthentic behaviors. This is rather annoying, I think I got flagged for "stealing" and "Impersonation". I am me, so that sucks. #Twitter #X #Suspended

#Twitter went noticeable bad in 2011, after the upgrade of US military bots, supposedly designed to target#terrorists.
You can see how that term is abused in numerous court cases, especially now, with ICE and continuing lies from the #WhiteHouse on down through our rotten "government"
