@lilpeggysnowflake.bsky.socialBack from the #WitchWalk and ready for #TheWizardOfOz on #Svengoolie
@mercurie80.bsky.socialIs Kansas still sepia coloured? #Svengoolie #TheWizardOfOz
@nicholechristoff.comArs Gratia Artis!
@mercurie80.bsky.social#TheWizardOfOz totally fits #Svengoolie At least when I was a kid, it was one of the scariest movies I'd ever seen.
@johnpaulmaler.bsky.socialTonight on #Svengoolie
@mercurie80.bsky.socialReady for the biggest movie to ever appear on #Svengoolie, #TheWizardOfOz. I watched it last night, but I wanted to see it again with my Sven pals.
@fictionforreal.bsky.socialEven though I prefer the book version, I never miss the 1939 #TheWizardOfOz. It deserves its legend status. Enjoy, & on with the show - an hour earlier than usual! #Svengoolie 6/6
@fictionforreal.bsky.socialWhile I appreciate good CGI, I have endless respect for the movie designers & technicians who mimicked reality with basic tools & unlimited imagination. #TheWizardOfOz #Svengoolie 5/6
@fictionforreal.bsky.socialIf you know how that transition was done, please wait & share afterwards so people have time to guess. It's kinda genius. #TheWizardOfOz #Svengoolie 4/6
@fictionforreal.bsky.socialThe only effect I'll mention is my fave, when Dorothy goes from Kansas sepia to Munchkin Land Technicolor. It's done in 1 shot, no edit. I can only imagine the amazement when audiences saw that for the first time. #TheWizardOfOz #Svengoolie 3/6
@fictionforreal.bsky.socialInstead of blabbing endlessly about #TheWizardOfOz, I'll stick to my favorite part, the FX. It's hard for people who grew up with CGI to marvel at these FX, which were done physically, using cloth & glass & paint, & filmed with regular cameras. #Svengoolie #PracticalEffects 2/6
@fictionforreal.bsky.socialI thought about watching #TheWizardOfOz last night, but I decided it would be more fun with the #Svengoolie gang tonight. Warning: I'll be in film student/geek mode. 1/6
@infrogmation.bsky.socialTonight, on METV! Svengoolie presents the scariest horror movie ever made!
