Another Merveille du Jour appreciation post! 5 last night. All different sizes and colours from mint to sap green. Some have very prominent black stripes across their middle others not so prominent to no black stripe. All are very fresh and beautiful! #teammoth

A slight return to form this morning, with 42/15; the best showing in 3 weeks.

This subtly gorgeous, NFM/NFG #497 Dusky-lemon Sallow, was on the wall by the trap.

One of the rarer Sallows in the county with just 276 records. It’s new for the tetrad. 🔲

On Oct 28th last year I ran trap for 1st time in our new garden here in Axminster VC3, expecting v little. One of that night's moths was a lovely fresh Merveille du Jour...

Almost a year on, and we're back to Mervs again. Even better, a spanking NFM Autumnal Rustic on Sunday night. 😍

Trapping opportunities hard to come by lately, so 107 of 26 in the SW Hants garden last night very welcome).
Autumnal Rustic was NFG, but pride of place goes to Deep-brown Dart: only one previous garden record so six in a night was quite a surprise!
Merveille du Jour one of 5 other NFY.

Think this is a Large Wainscott trapped in my Cheshire garden overnight? Or is it a Bulrush Wainscott? 1st for garden either way #teammoth

#TeamMoth After 4 fresh Grey Shoulder-knot in a week (approaching 50% of the all-time record for the 4 VC's of Borders), and with the Mervs trickling in, may have peaked at 7 Mervs last night. 56/19 including my 3rd Pale Mottled Willow and 2nd Garden Rose Tortrix. The Ivy helps!

A lurking Grey Shoulder-knot discovered on the wall above the patio window. Cue retrieval with stepladder and net! Such a good-looking moth, especially when as fresh as this one. @pmandrews1973.bsky.social #teammoth

Moth numbers holding up in SE Hants 125/34. Nothing new but a migrant feel to the trap (could be local breeders, who knows this year 🤷🏻‍♂️). 4x SMW, 1x RDP, 1x Clancy’s, 4x Blair’s Mocha, 1x Rush Veneer, 3x L-album W, 4x White Point, 1x Vestal and Turnip. Best of Y. sequella #teammoth #migrantmothuk

42/18 last night, which is decent but I'm still Mervless. Box-tree 12 and Barred Sallow 8 were the most numerous, but Black Rustic, SpruceCarpet 2, PMW 2, SMW, Hypsopygia costalis, C quercana, A sparsana etc #TeamMoth

Looked quite Mothy last night, as I put the #teammoth trap out. In fact I potted this up from the lid of the trap.

It proved to be NFM/NFG #496 Scrobipalpa costella (Bittersweet Moth) which is also new for the tetrad. 🔲

I was wondering if I’d ever get a different Scrobipalpa, after so many Beets.
