Located on W. #Torrance Blvd, Alpine Village opened in October 1968 & hosted its first #Oktoberfest in September 1969. #AlpineVillage announcements from the Daily Breeze (October 1968):

Printed in the Daily Breeze (October 1968), this double-page newspaper ad invited folks to come visit Alpine Village, "the Little City from the Alps!" A couple of small sketches of buildings are included along with a menu and a map illustrating the future plans for Alpine Village. This full page newspaper ad features a large black banner hanging from an ornate metal sign post. Printed on this banner are the words "We Invite You! Alpine Village" (in a very large white font with lots of serifs). "Grand Opening" tops the page. From the Daily Breeze (October 1968).

A recent look at Alpine Village, once the site of the largest #Oktoberfest celebration in Southern California. The buildings & sign were designated #LACounty historic landmarks in 2020: www.laconservancy.org/learn/histor.... Alpine Village closed in 2023 & remains empty (as far as I could tell).

As far as I could tell (standing behind a gate), the buildings appeared to be in good condition.This photo from the 2016 Oktoberfest shows a large sign over the entryway that reads “Welcome to Alpine Village Oktoberfest.” Under the sign is colorful ceiling filled with large red, yellow and blue streamers. A balloon drop can be seen on the right. In the bottom half of the photo are rows of tables full of festive Oktoberfest attendees. I took this photo 10 years ago.
