The #NHLJets opening-night roster has 10 different faces from one that kicked off last year's campaign.

F: Lowry (was hurt), Perfetti (was hurt), Bjorck, Rosen
D: Samberg (was hurt), Ferarro, Bauer, St. Ivany
G: Skinner, Stevenson

Salomonsson would be 11th new face if healthy.

I asked #NHLJets Viggo Bjorck how he and Tyrel Bauer will decide tonight who hits the ice first for their first game “hot lap,” suggesting Rock Paper Scissors might be an option?

“Well I’m not going to fight him for it.”

No line rushes at #NHLJets morning skate, but based on who is staying out late, I’d expect:

Connor-Scheifele-Perfetti
Rosén-Björck-Vilardi
Barron-Lowry-Lambert
Niederreiter-Namestnikov-Iafallo

Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Ferraro-Bauer

New season, new goaltenders, but same role for Dylan Samberg at morning skate.

He’s the warm-up shooter for the anticipated starting goaltender for the #NHLJets, Stuart Skinner.

“I’ll be honest. It’s not comfortable.”

Scott Arniel has lots on his plate these days. But the #NHLJets coach took some time Thursday to sit down with myself and @wiebesworld.bsky.social for a wide-ranging chat.

Kenny and I also have our detailed #NHLJets season preview on the way.

Both our pieces will be online this evening and in Friday’s print edition of the newspaper.

It didn’t take long to get the dirt on the newest member of the #NHLJets.

Meet Clay Stevenson, who has no problem if you prefer to refer to him by his long-standing nickname of “Mud.”

My story: www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews...

Here’s colleague @wiebesworld.bsky.social with an in-depth look at the new No. 1 masked man for the #NHLJets.
