Yep, it’s going to be up to him, for sure. #Mets can’t force it, & he, at times, has shown himself capable of playing an average corner OF—more than enough to compensate for his HoF bat.

That said, Harper did it because it helped his team + less physical pounding. I think Soto *could* do the same.

So, I’ll put a final period on my take, Ed. As a #Mets fan, I have moved on. But Pete was my favorite Met since DWright and I’ll always be disappointed he didn’t spend his whole career with us.

And even though the Baseball Gods took him to Baltimore, he clearly *still* feels the same way.

Good morning Rachel. I would think not. Losing Alonso & Nimmo seemed most traumatic for #Mets fans and I don't see that happening again. This year, losing (for example) Senga & Vientos would not cause as much pain.
