Then I realized the word they meant was
I-N-E-X-T-I-N-G-U-I-S-H-A-B-L-E
One who is impossible to destroy
And it wasn't a compliment

The target is the threat

In late October,
as we both hung,
I felt this pang
under the ribs,
longing ghost,
surely not
#hunger or lust
long lost on us
skeletal fiends
hanging 'round
gallows, guillotines.
So I pushed it down,
loudly cackled
as to work my bones
hoping they'd adjust,

...but it persists.

Are these hippos exceptionally hungry? Constantly hungering? Hippos with endless, insatiable #hunger?

Perhaps they a unique species of hippo—the hungry hippo—and this particular group of hungry hippos are hungry, in the normal sense, craving grass and watermelons.
