* i.e. the non-Sashiko kind. It was influenced by Chinese embroidery: the first pieces were for religious use. But then it was used on kimono, obi, haori, fukusa, etc.

Some progress in the splashy green.
I love this, the color effect is just how I hoped.
Now I want one in jumbo one column wide.

A follow up. Hand knotting project in progress. A splashy bright green raised squiggles piece. 4 columns of stacked opposing short rows layers that make a deep dimensional wiggles, almost like tubes slaloming back and forth. Now it's 2 repeats tall- left right left right
