Dream start for Durham as Fernandes edges the first ball of the day, from Alridge, to Rhodes at third slip.
He's out for 3.
Durham need seven more wickets for promotion.
Middlesex 55-3. Target 424.

What a beautiful day for a game of cricket.
It's the final day of Durham v Middlesex and we could be seeing a promotion party later.
Here's the preview.

Durham v Middlesex will go to a fourth and final day tomorrow.
The elements and the slow pace of the game prevented a three day finish today.

Umpires have been out two or three times to inspect but say the light is still not good enough.
They will look again at 5.45pm.
My thought is they will then call it off for the day with the final 29 overs lost to the elements and Middlesex 55-2 and chasing 424 to beat Durham.

Bad light again.
Middlesex are 55-2. 29.4 overs remain today in theory!
Durham are going to have to do this tomorrow.

Hollman didn't look long for this world.
He was dropped on none in the first over off Raine, then really struggled to cope with Carse' pace.
He's just been caught down the leg side on 26.
Middlesex 38-1 and it's blowing a hoolie.
They need another 386 to beat Durham.

Hollman dropped on none, by Clark at point, off Raine third ball of the innings.
Middlesex need 424 to beat Durham.
42 overs left today.

Durham didn't declare. They batted on around the bad light and the odd shower, until they were eventually all out for 374.
Middlesex need 424 to win.
Tea has bee taken. There are 41 overs left today but I don't think we will see all of those because of the light.
Final day tomorrow.

Raine was forecast between 1pm and 2pm and it has arrived at 1.30pm, so the players have gone off.
Durham are 335-7 and lead Middlesex by 384.
I wonder if they may declare during this rain break? It would be a good time to!

They lead Middlesex by 317 at 268-4.

Day two of Durham v Middlesex turned out to be one of vastly contrasting fortunes.
But Durham are in a great position to seal promotion this week, at the first time of asking.

McKinney reaches his second century in three games and his third of the year, following 244 at Bristol in April and 140 at Derby a fortnight ago.
This one comes in 128 balls an 14x4s. Been a very sensible innings.
It's the 7th of his FC career.
