The Real-Life RitualChristie famously did her best plot-building while eating apples in the bathtub. The Process: She would sit in a large, old-fashioned rimmed tub, munching on apples while mapping out the complex relationships and murder motives for her books. The Evidence: She would line up the leftover apple cores along the wooden or mahogany rim of the tub. In fact, when renovating her holiday home, Greenway Estate, she explicitly instructed the architect to install a massive bath with a wide ledge specifically to accommodate her apple habit. The End of an Era: Later in life, she lamented that modern porcelain bathtubs were too slippery and lacked proper ledges, which forced her to largely abandon the routine.

Here's a group shot of some more #apples from the 'Pitmaston Pine Apple' tree on our allotment plot. They need a week or two to ripen fully, but they're edible now, if you like a bit more acid in your apple.
