Today's #mtgtrivia question:
In Dark Ascension, we learn why Avacyn is missing (and thus why the fate of the Humans is so dire)? What happened to her?

@bluphosphorus.bsky.socialI'm really hoping that the wonderful #wotcstaff are able to answer all of this with the story as it comes out, whenever it comes out.
Sincerely,
A person who is absolutely adores Innistrad(4/4)

@maro254.bsky.socialToday's #mtgtrivia question:
At the prerelease of Dark Ascension, there was a minigame that went along with the prerelease. What was each person given in addition to the cards? And how was the minigame played?
@merismullaley.bsky.socialDesparked planeswalkers lost their spark following the events of March of the Machine.
We use the watermark the first time the character appears after that event. Reality Fracture ended up with a higher-than average density of them because of our legend pairs.
@maro254.bsky.socialAnswer to yesterday's #mtgtrivia question:
Undying. I was thinking up a mechanic to capture a monster trope. My wife asked, "Is there an existing mechanic that captures what you want?" I said, "Yes, persist." "Why not use that?" "It uses -1/-1 counters and we have +1/+1 counters."
@maro254.bsky.socialToday's #MakingMagic article is part two of my story on the design of #MTGFracture: magic.wizards.com/en/news/maki... #mtg #WotCStaff
@merismullaley.bsky.socialThey are meant to be Jace's eye. That piercing blue.
Like many things in the Echoverse, it is an illusion made physical.
It blinks, looks around, and probably reacts if you poke it. But Jace's eyes are still on his face, and he's not harvesting eyes from strangers.
#wotcstaff
@merismullaley.bsky.socialIf the question is about the eye badge, it is ONE MORE form of surveillance magic deployed by Jace. His eye is everywhere on campus.
@wotcmatt.bsky.socialThis sounds like something I'd make up, but I swear it's true. I needed to take my mind off the Packers blowing today's game, so I thought I'd lighten tomorrow's load by templating a few cards and the first one where I needed to look up a precedent? That precedent was ****ing Unravel. #WotCstaff
@maro254.bsky.socialToday's #mtgtrivia question:
What mechanic is Dark Ascension came about because my wife asked me a question (technically, two questions)?
@maro254.bsky.socialToday’s #mtgtrivia question:
In Innistrad, I had to get permission to do something because R&D had previously said we were never going to do it? What am I talking about?

@aryawrites.bsky.socialI was promoted to Senior Game Designer this week! My three and a half years working on Magic so far have been wonderful, and I'm looking forward to continuing to design cool cards for an amazing game alongside people I love spending time with. #wotcstaff
