Cats are the best motivating to get up and move! #StetChat

benign neglect?

I am careful about how much I water, have repotted a few times (probably need to again), and don't let the cat chew on it. That's about it.

Bo also asks for mineral water and ice cubes in his water bowl, I bet. #StetChat

Most cats tend to be very photogenic. Obviously, not all cats. #StetChat

Q3: How do you avoid being distracted by your pet (or wild animals outside your window!) throughout the workday, especially on tasks that require deep focus? #StetChat

When they’re around, they’re very vocal. They love raisins and are very demanding. I think they left for winter quarters a few days ago. It’s been very quiet the last few days. #StetChat

He's some kind of doodle mix, a real sweetheart. We spend several days a month together, so he feels like family. #StetChat

Yikes! That's expensive. You could get a lot of books and yarn for that amount of money! Plus, there are a lot of great dogs at rescues that are much cheaper to adopt but still beautiful and healthy. #StetChat

#StetChat | Up until a few months ago, under my snack station table (mini-fridge, tea service, etc.) in my office. But at this age, they've started to lose reliable control of bodily functions, so now they hang out where there isn't any carpet! :D

Wild animal friends count for the purposes of this #StetChat!

I'm so impressed! I've got a few pothos and zz plants that I've kept alive for a few years, but 40 years is incredible. What's your secret? #StetChat

Hi Martha! We definitely count houseplants. They require care and attention, they just tend to be less quiet than cats, dogs, and birds. #StetChat

A1: My cats’ favorite spot around the house changes from week to week, but they often sunbathe in my office window. #StetChat

#StetChat | Thank you! I really wanted a Doberman, but all the ones I found at the time cost triple- or quadruple-digits.

Bo looks like a lot of fun! Is he a terrier of some sort? #StetChat

Mr Jynx is my editorial assistant. He makes sure I get up and move around every now and then.

I'm the opposite. I've had two dogs of my own but no cats. I have two cat nephews, though, and they are very handsome fellows. #StetChat

I love Peri's expression in this photo. #StetChat

Hi Jennifer! This gray catbird is very cute. Do they ever make their presence known, perhaps so as to get birdseed? #StetChat
