@thepoetjean.bsky.socialA26. I'm Not the Villain by Rachel Sandy is a great song for how the Sargons acquired power -- essentially the usual "evil nobles of history" nonsense. They have a connection past and present w the protags & have ruined their lives flippantly before.

@thepoetjean.bsky.socialA25.
YOU'RE GONNA GO FAR KID by Offspring -- a song for Ari and his brother Angel. They've had to rebuild their lives in the devastation of their parents' deaths and they came out different than they've imagined and also grown.

"Power of Two" by Victoria Monét - this is a song I often imagine Fish & his sister Dannine singing to each other.
They're estranged siblings who ended up on opposite sides of a conflict.
🎶 Tell me, where was your heart, when you ripped destiny apart? 🎶

So it's bittersweet, but it's also about being vulnerable and trusting. This song makes me think of a specific point in Lu and Sorrel's relationship where Lu is *finally* able to open up completely about himself and what he's been through.
@chancemorgan.bsky.socialIn DEAD BEATS, Seymour’s climactic showdown is essentially with his own darker nature, the side of himself that is impulsive, selfish, hedonistic, vengeful, and mean.
For this, I picked “Specter of the Goblin” from the 2002 Spider-Man movie.

Apologetix’s song, “Devil Went Down To Jordan”. Put it in my book’s playlist because it corresponds with the only time we actually meet the main antagonist. youtu.be/areuOgOt9M4?...
@strangeauthor.blacksky.appeheeeheee this fits Nick and Jade

@lcyruswhelchel.bsky.socialNot gonna lie, ‘Those Who Govern Reason’ is *the* definitive boss theme I think of when reading the final clash of FWC with Kai, Maple, & Orelia vs. the Big Bad & Grimghast!

WAY behind on these but I have one!
The reprise fits well too. Stella scaring Lu into staying put is a big part of their dynamic.
Not a "true" duet since Rapunzel doesn't really sing but she has a few lines.
@princeumin.bsky.socialAnti HERO is a song I kinda view as a pre-battle theme with Yuni and the antagonist (in a way, they don't actually fight in this scene)
I really need to actually play this game LMAO I've just been listening to the soundtrack for 5 years

I'm gonna flip this around and do the antagonist vs. MC, Drowning by NateWantsToBattle.
So remember that Antag from Day 10? I said we'd get back to them for their opinions on Asali... and this song is it—in a close to literal sense. They would sing this to torment her. 🧵
