Can Farage really sell us Brexit—again? 🤔

A @yorkshirepost.co.uk 📰 letter on Andy Burnham's EU 'open door' says it won't work twice.

Leave voters feel betrayed by broken promises.

1 in 4 already back #RejoinEU.

Isn't it time for Britain to bounce back? 🇬🇧🇪🇺👇

A scanned clipping of a published letter to the editor in The Yorkshire Post on Friday, October 09, 2026, headlined "'Opening door for Reform' is wishful thinking".

The letter questions if Nigel Farage is naive to believe the door has been opened for Reform UK over the issue of Europe. It notes that Farage has already admitted Brexit failed, but ironically recruited the same failed Tory architects to his party while blaming others. The author argues that many Leave voters understandably feel betrayed by broken promises—such as £350m a week for the NHS and controlled migration—and points out that around one in four Leave voters already support rejoining.

The letter concludes by questioning why Farage is entitled to a second chance to deliver an isolated country, suggesting cynically that the "man of the people" might just be chasing another £5m "Brexit bonus" from a rich, overseas friend.

Although dealing with all ages, this study by Dr Annie Jeffery of University College London is like a more honest version of the Milburn\Labour NEET report.

(which didn't mention Brexit once, for example).

There *are* increased mental issues in the country.

You know how one is solved: #RejoinEU

A closer relationship with the EU can deliver more for Britain.

Speaking to Euronews, Hamish Falconer backed greater ambition in UK–EU relations, agreeing that the current relationship is not good enough.

No complacency, we should continue to campaign and make the argument as if we were 20% behind!

Labour made a promise in their manifesto to help Musicians (and other artists) gain better access to Europe.

The EU has offered such a deal, usually called a 'Musicians Visa', multiple times.

Each time, some minor issue was used by Labour to derail it under Starmer.

Burnham, you're up.

Brexit not directly mentioned as a cause. Fair enough.

But it underscores the detrimental effect Brexit has had on our hospitality industry.

Supply chain costs have shot up.
There are still labour shortages due to the loss of Freedom of Movement.
Brexit inspired tax rises don't help.

"Stop throwing shade"
Says the woman throwing shade by not mentioning Brexit even once.

A 64.5% decrease in London listings since Brexit.
Figures are complex, but over company lifecycles, this costs our exchequer billions.

You won't fix sod-all until the Brexit poison is purged.
