And there's Kyle Connor's annual opening night goal.

Make it an NHL record NINE straight seasons he's lit the lamp in Game No. 1 for the #NHLJets.

The previous record was six.

Thos one on the power play makes it 2-2 early in the 2nd period.

Viggo Bjorck creates a nice chance near the end of the first period, which was highly entertaining.

#NHLJets open the scoring from Dylan DeMelo, get a spirited Tyrel Bauer fight, but give up a quick pair to trail 2-1 through 20.

Shots 13-8 for Winnipeg.

Good evening to @mitchellclinton.winnipegjets.com and Mr. UtilityVoice from #YYJ this evening. Great to be listening to the #NHLJets on CJOB again!

Jonathan Toews, who was the #NHLJets second line centre in last year's sesaon opener, was just shown on the big screen here at Canada Life Centre, taking in tonight's game as a fan. The Winnipegger got a big cheer.

HOW DID YOU KNOW??? Inquiring minds want to know. #NHLJets #GoJetsGo

Goal Hello Demelo
#nhljets

Viggo Bjorck is my goat #NHLJets

DeMelo (1) from Barron and Lowry is the scoring play.

#NHLJets off to a quick start here.

Who had Dylan DeMelo scoring the first #NHLJets goal of the new season?

Well, he did.

1-0, on a knuckle-puck from the point.

Viggo Bjorck's first shot on net of his NHL career is an absolute Grade A scoring chance. Outstanding pad save by Jeremy Swayman to deny the #NHLJets rookie his first goal in his first period of action.

Let's Go Jets
Go Jets Go

They’re not booing. They’re Stuuuuuu-ing.

One of the loudest cheers during pre-game introductions was for the #NHLJets new starting goaltender.

LIVE

Feel free to pop into the purple app as we watch the #NHLJets start their march to 84-0-0

Feels like just a matter of when -- not if -- Tyrel Bauer drops the gloves in his #NHLJets debut.

Notable he spent a good chunk of the pre-game warmup stretching at centre ice, directly facing the Boston Bruins as they did their laps.

No shortage of potential dance partners.

What’s better than one hot lap? How about two hot laps?

#NHLJets Tyrel Bauer and Viggo Bjorck go “bang bang” for their rookie debuts here at Canada Life Centre.

MLB didn't want to dare put up anything against the #NHLJets home opener. Smart move by them really. It's honestly crazy the NHL would schedule other games at the same time.

All eyes on Winnipeg.

All the best to my #NHLJets media colleagues, Jets fans, bloggers, podcasters, and otherwise passionate Winnipeg-focused hockey people as the Jets start their season today.

May your love of the game and its many great stories serve you well this season.

Like.. can we just make THIS the #NHLJets goal song going forward? You get a little crowd sing along at the end after the initial cheer/roar happens...

It's perfect.

And now the most important part of the #NHLJets season... The goal songs list.
