Remember what an adventure it was when he first moved to the OF from 2B, usually in CF to start? Oy vey! He's come a very, very long way, and mucho props to him for making the most of what he was given.

@thegratefulcub.bsky.socialThe problem is that games aren't decided by aggregate performance. The #Cubs don't get to bank the extra runs when they blow up mediocre pitching on teams mailing it in. And once again, this blind spot shows up in the playoffs.
@thegratefulcub.bsky.socialStrongly disagree. Over the previous 4 seasons, since taking 2B full-time, he's averaged 5.3 (AS-level) bWAR. And he backs up SS w/out losing defense, and it's easier to fill 2B. Yeah, this season was a head-scratcher. But one wonders if this is more signs of #Cubs systems issues than just him.
@thegratefulcub.bsky.socialHe's worked his ass off to get to where he is, and had another solid defensive year in LF, maybe good enough for another GG. But his league-average OPS+ suggests his bat is seeing him on the wrong side of his performance curve, and not worth FA money at 32.

@crawlyscubs.bsky.socialFor those that don’t know, the legendary Mai Tai Guy keeps each and every “Over 21” bleacher wristbands until the end of the season. After the final out of the season, we cut them off! Here is last night’s (this mornings?!) cutting of the wristbands! #Cubs

@danbernstein.bsky.socialJust an inexcusably flaccid #Cubs performance to slam the door on the season. Brutal all around.
#WhiteSox need to make room on the bandwagon -- the country will love them when they can finally see them.
