BTW: TMA-1 stands for Tycho Magnetic Anomaly One - as in the lunar crater Tycho. In the prolog for "2010" it was said that the monolith was discovered near the Apollo 11 landing site Sea of Tranquility. They're actually separated by hundreds of miles. 🙄

The lunar landing sequence is where my 7.5-year-old mind was completely blown.
BTW: While most of the props from the film no longer exist, the lander survived and it is in a museum.
