Lynn Ball was the leader in a club Block-of-the-Month project. She decided to focus on the color green, since she rarely designs in green. "Verdant Horizon" was born. Lynn's blocks were really rows, and I wonder if that was the parameters for the other quilts too.
The #nmaiquiltalong final border just dropped. I’m on it. @smithsonian.bsky.social #quiltsky

Speaking of details…
I added the beads & mini tassel* to the velvet fan; and used a variety of fancy fabrics for the cluster of flowers. 👏😍🩵🩷
*made with two repurposed belt loops, from a dress. 😁

This old quilt, displayed in the quilt museum in Lincoln, Nebraska, is part of the Roderick Collection. The maker of the quilt is unknown, but the museum thinks it was made in North Carolina around 1950. The broken grid lines add to the collectablity of this piece.
Peace Round the World Wednesday. Finished the lighter green. Seguing into a darker green. Not sure about my choice of charcoal for the subsequent round. Good thing darker green is 48 squares. 😉🧵💚🪡😆

Very interesting update from YouTube quilter, bag maker, crafter Carolina Moore!
New (to me) Janome machine! *Squeals* I cannot wait to create some beautiful art quilts on this machine. ❤️ #quiltsky
WIPWednesday #Quiltsky! Feeling pretty good that I'm caught up on the NMAI blocks. Still need to do the sashing/inner borders, but I'm confident I can easily do that. Can't wait for tomorrow to see the outer border design!
I’m in the EPP section of the Alice’s Wonderland quilt (blocks 61-80). It is now a slow crawl. I’m making two of each block so that I will have two finished quilts for my 2 granddaughters.
I am a NOVICE EPP quilter. Advice? I’m using freezer paper, pressing roller, & glue stick. #quiltsky
