It's always time for some more #Zappa. 🙃🎼🎹

Despite edits, still the best recording
of ARCANA. I doubt very much LA
could do better for the 100 year
anniversary 2027…

Frank Zappa - 'Halloween 77' (3cd) (2017)

Amazing recording of the last show (of six concerts) in The Palladium, NYC on October 31, 1977. Three hours of insane #FrankZappa stuff, a perfect band (Bozzio, Belew, Mars, O'Hearn, Mann, Wolf) and incredible #Zappa guitar.

One of those things I never could justify buying because I'd never be able to play anything in it as much as I wish I could (I'm not that level of guitarist) but for a buc at a thrift shop I had to rescue this copy of The Frank #Zappa Guitar Book. Solos transcribed by Steve Vai. #musicsky #music

Woke with an earworm for The 4 Deuces' "W-P-L-J" but can't find my 78 RPM disc. Thus, I'm forced (twist my arm) to play Zappa's version on Burnt Weeny Sandwich (where most of us 1st heard the song). Got this promo in a trade with a friend some years back (w/ poster). 1of2 #musicsky #music #zappa

One more spin of the jaw-dropping pre-master early mix of Frank #Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention's 1966 masterpiece, Freak Out! This is in the new 60th Anniversary boxed set which I review on Analog Planet (vinyl) and eCoustics (CD/Bluray). #musicsky #music

I love this moment in a Frank Zappa interview from 1984 after he says, 'I would rather be treated as an eccentric than have to do the things that people do in order to be treated as one of the 'real guys.' And then he makes this face 😗 youtu.be/PUJ9aFS2GbA?... #zappa

He's already dead for some 33 years, but I have the feeling #Zappa's ideas, especially on societal development, are more current then ever. In his music he was often crass but from the very beginning there have been really astute observations. @bradleymorgan.bsky.social has written about this.
