#TimeTravelAuthors: A non book example of timetravel; Fringe, Bodies, Startrek; TV with time or timeline travel. Series like Green Valley (and all Ruth Goodman series) have inspired me. And going to ren fairs- something that's on my bucket list.

#TimeTravelAuthors 11: Non-book time travel stands out?

TV influences are Quantum Leap, Back to the Future and Bill & Ted; the Steins;Gate time model is also key. Yet book tie-ins exist?

For something w/ no book, "The Girl Who Stole Time" is recent and aspirational.

D11 examples of non-book time travel 🤔
The video game Assassin's Creed is time travel via genetic memories.
So many movies named but I didn't see Star Trek which presented several types of time travel and let's not forget Isekai animes. (Beware Truck-kun!)

Non-book time travel that stood out to me? The old show Tru Calling. Tru works in a morgue, and when dead people ask her for help, she goes back to the last time she woke up to try to save them. I wouldn't be surprised if it subconsciously influenced my 🍕 story/WIP.

Edge of tomorrow. Yes, it's technically based on a book, but it's standing damn well on its own legs. And then it does backflips in exosuits with giant swords and hits you with such a sweet love story with amazing character development. core memory

#TimeTravelAuthors I was thinking lately about the brilliance of Groundhog Day. Our MC in the time loop does everything from jumping off a cliff to reading philosophy in a coffee shop. It's a whole lifetime of choices in a predictable setting. It's hilarious and thoughtful. I should watch it again.

#TimeTravelAuthors Day 11
I don't know a lot of #TimeTravel outside books, so my vote goes to Back to the Future. I like that it takes the approach that you can change the future/present by changing the past.
Oh, Umbrella Academy is another one but it's so weird I haven't wrapped my head around it.

There's always the classic Back to the Future.

And I know there have been several time travel episodes of Star Trek, which also come to mind.

#TimeTravelAuthors Oct 11: Non-book examples.

My fanfic was inspired by anime (Madoka Magica) and a web comic (Homestuck). I thought it would be fun to combine the two types of time travel. Madoka Magica has time travel tied to key dates, while Homestuck is more interested in parallel universes.

D11. The Butterfly Effect film has always stood out for me as something different. It's an uncomfortable watch, very dystopian in tone, but a smart exploration of how an ability to time travel can go horribly wrong, with no way of putting things right again.

Although it’s not the premiere time travel film, I like “Kate and Leopold” bc the FMC chooses to go back in time and stay there.

I mentioned Looper last time, great film.

Ever seen Russian Doll on Netflix? Season 1 is a time loop, 2 is more conventional time travel. Both excellent!

The way they travel is maybe less interesting than time travel as a metaphor for regret, personal or cultural. Funny, too!

Curious... I think it might be my main character. Although, as the story progresses, it might be one of my MMCs.

I don't have the actual word fuzzy, but I can offer this rather fuzzy chase scene.
