So I’m thinking it would be cool to have something like this on the ceiling of the dragon’s cave in @foldedfableshq.bsky.social
The Steam page for our next game just went live. It's a cozy, co-op, clean-up game set in a medieval castle. If that sounds cool to ya, we'd love a wishlist!
And finally gluing it together!

Now for some folding! I could measure everything, but I find it easier to just use an e

Steps in the process… starting with cutting strips of paper. Anyone that knows me, knows I’m quite obsessed with different paper types. But for this, I’m using standard printer paper. Also, paper cutters like this are a great investment

Folded some more letters this weekend so we can make a @foldedfableshq.bsky.social version of our @cnegames.bsky.social logo for the game splash screen.

Version 5.0: the final iteration! Some final adjustments and then selected paper colors that I thought looked good. A shout out to my wife who was really helpful in this stage. This is the version that I gave to our artist who made the digital version
I did this version the following weekend. By the fourth iteration, I was getting pretty close to the final. I adjusted the design to make the cave entrance smaller, plus made a base to hide the glue tabs for each part
My third iteration is where I was able to get to by the end of the long weekend. By this point, I had my template working and had done an initial design for each of the layers.
It was a push to get it done so I could show folks at work the next morning!
This is the first version I made. I watched some #popup tutorials on YT and thought, how bad can that be to make? Oh sweet summer child….
This one was made using some cardboard from my recycling (Orange Crush box), cardstock, and lots of tape.
To figure out how to make this digital pop up book for our game @foldedfableshq.bsky.social, I had to do LOTS of physical iterations. Here is a thread of my paper versions.
I ended up needing to make two sets of letters. Logo one and one to crumple. It was so much work making both sets, I couldn’t bring myself to recycle them. So I have these nice letters and these crumpled letters in my office.
