For me, the first painting feels like the truer take on Aristotle. Something about the setting just feels authentic, whereas the red background and colorful clothes in the second one make it feel more staged. #hwa3 #thetwonapoleons

in both paintings the artists mimic reality, Wiley's painting resonates more with me as this is my reality. The racial/political commentary reminds me of the society I am presently immersed in. The old-timey painting is far off and mimics a reality I was never apart of. #hwa3 #thetwonapoleons
The painting on the right feels more real to me because it looks more modern and familiar. #hwa3 #thetwonapoleons
Wiley’s version feels more real to me because it makes me question who gets shown as powerful in history. The wealthy setting makes it feel more connected to the present. #hwa3 #thetwonapoleons
I believe that the second one is more real to me because it creates an anti environment which disrupts the normal way of thinking. It allows me to not see reality in one fixed way while the first forces one #hwa3 #thetwonapoleons
Wiley’s napoleon feels more real to me because the original painting feels like it just glorifies Napoleon which doesn’t make me feel anything, but Wiley’s painting has a strong message behind it and once you interpret it the painting feels way more real than the original. #hwa3 #thetwonapoleons
If we are truly mimetic then the second version feels more real becuase it is a mimic of the napoleon painting from the beginning. ALso the second one feels more real becuas it is using things ive experienced like timberland boots and army uniforms. #hwa3 #thetwonapoleons
