Whitefur had opinions 🐾

A white cat with grey patches and a grey forehead and ears is lying on a tiled terrace on the afternoon sun. Behind her there is washing drying on a clothes horse. She is lying on her side with her head lifted and is talking loudly, her mouth open, and pink nose, lips and tongue evident.

Three out of four looking at the camera wasn't bad going 🐾
Twilight's family L-R Storm, Dawn, Mist and Dusk.
They were born and raised in the fields but brought to the drive for weaning by Twilight.

Four kittens are lying on a wall in the afternoon sun. By some miracle, three of them are looking at the camera. Behind them in the green of the field with prickly pear bushes, and on the left of the wall is a cactus in a pot. On the right of the pot is Storm, a grey kitten, who is looking over the heads of her siblings. Dawn (calico) and Mist (grey and white) are looking at the camera. The wall steps up and on the next level on the right of the picture, Dusk, a brindle tortoiseshell, is looking at the camera. In front of her are the dead branches of an old bougainvillea tree.

The Cat's son Fred, tail up and ready for whatever the day might bring 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A young black-and-white cat stands in a field of dried grasses and branches. He is alert and his tail is straight up, curling slightly at the end. He has a white bib and chin, white paws (with varying length white socks) and a white flash up one side of this noce. His ears are pricked and alert.

Whitefur, basking in the afternoon sun on the terrace 🐾
She would have been the first to hear the familiar 'getting-the-cats'-tea-ready' noises coming from indoors and could quickly dash back down to the garden and be first in the dinner queue.
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A white cat with grey patches and grey cheeks and ears is basking in the sun. She is lying in a blue, plastic carrot box with perforated sides and is lying on some folded shade cloth. She has her eyes scrunched up against the afternoon sun, her back against one side of the box and her front legs stretched out in front of her.

Sherpa's great ascent 🐾
I never stopped the kittens from climbing my legs - it was just one of the things they did, and a phase that didn't last that long. And, in any case, they grew up too quickly.

A small orange-and-white kitten is scaling a human leg. He has a determined look on his face and is using his claws to pull himself up the denim fabric.

Shamrock kindly helping mum Cracker with her bowl of food 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A young grey-and-white kitten is sharing a bowl with a black adult cat who is his mother. There are two white enamel bowls of wet food placed on the ground in a garden. To the left is a large terracotta coloured plant pot containing a large yucca plant with a small gap behind for kittens to be snug and safe. Behind the cats are some fruit boxes stacked up against the garden wall. The ground is dry and covered with straw and dry leaves.

Tumbleweed exploring the garden 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A young grey cat with striking pale green eyes sits in the long grass of a garden looking at the camera. Overhead are the branches of a fruit tree with dry leaves, and around him is a mix of long grass and dried grass. It is autumn and the colours are turning.

Cheese educating her adopted son Sherpa in the art of tussling. Sherpa was the only survivor of his litter and his birth mother had spent very little time with him, so he'd had scant physical contact with other cats and kittens until now 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A black cat lies on her belly, tail curled round, front paws outstretched and head up. Between her front paws is an orange-and-white kitten lying on his back, play-fighting with his adoptive mother. He is kicking his back legs up, and has his front paws under his mother's chin as he fights back.

Phantom's daughter Shady brought herself to the garden knowing that she needed help. She was malnourished and tiny for her age, but with protected meal times and the security of the garden, she gradually built up her strength 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A young white cat with grey fur around her eyes, ears and forehead is looking straight at the camera. She is very thin and narrow and looks frail. Her eyes are enormous, green and set in dark grey fur. She is standing on a bed of dry grass in a garden with trees behind her. Despite her malnourished appearance, her fur is healthy and her eyes bright and nose pink.

Why was Whitefur nicknamed Wicked Child? Here she was about to jump up to the half-height screen, followed by a messy drop down between the screen and the cotton curtain, emerging as though she was wearing a bridal train - all so she could Lie On The Mat 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A photo taken from inside the house. There is a mostly white cat sitting on the mat outside, looking steadily upwards. Between us is the woven cotton full-length flyscreen, then a half-height solid flyscreen/gate. The cat is planning to jump up onto the solid flyscreen, drop down behind (getting tangled in the cotton curtain), emerging eventually to lie on the doormat.

Visitor Cat, doing her best to look as though this was exactly where she had intended to end up when she slithered down the trunk of the olive tree 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A beautiful calico cat, peach grey and white in colour with a white nose and chin and a fluffy, banded tail, looks sideways from the fork of an olive tree where she has come to rest. Of course this is what I intended - of course!

Twilight's daughter Dusk observing the human holding the camera with interest from her safe place behind a cactus in the drive 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A tortoiseshell kitten is sitting at the back of a plant trough in the driveway, with her back against a limestone block wall. She is peeping round at the camera from behind a large cactus, looking curiously at the human holding the camera. She has dark brown ears and a black patch down one side of her nose. The other side is dark brown, and she has a flash of white fur down her nose and a triangle over her nose, mouth and under her chin.

Buttermilk captured on a rare visit to the garden. He and his brothers Caramel and Syllabub spent most of their time in the fields and the drive.

A handsome young pale orange cat with lovely tiger stripes stares up at the camera from the top of the water tank where he is relaxing in the shade of the olive tree. His eyes are perfect almond shapes and beautifully lined.

#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A family are eating their tea in the front path. At the front with her back to the camera is mother, Roma, a mostly white cat with some orange patches and an orange banded tail. She is eating dry food from a plastic dish. Further back are her kittens, a tortoiseshell/calico and an orange-and-white boy, eating wet food from a white enamelled bowl. Behind them are two wooden fruit crates stacked up which the cats liked to sit in.

Pascha and Sherpa, planning mischief together in the garden. From such a small kitten, Sherpa was bonded with Pascha. They were not related, but somehow they formed an alliance and Sherpa became the guide for his partially-sighted adoptive big brother 🐾
#TheGozoDailyCat #feralcats #CatsofBluesky

A peach-and-white young male cat and a young orange-and-white kitten are sitting next to each other in a garden. Underfoot (or under paw) are dry olive leaves and there is a citrus tree in front of them. There are two plastic greengrocer's crates stacked up in front of the cats and they are staring intently up at them, as though they are planning an assault. The older cat looks in charge, ears pricked and alert, the younger one full of kitten energy and ready to do whatever his best friend says.
