@jordancarp3nt3r.bsky.socialFinally watched - The Death of Robin Hood
While it's understandably not appealing to everyone given it's story & pacing.
But I was perdonally really enthralled due to it's great performances, stunning visuals, cinematography and beautiful soundtrack.
@anothercinna.bsky.socialNot Robin & Marian, but the considerably darker Robin & Jodi - #TheDeathOfRobinHood - does justice to a myth at the far end of its arc.

@avforums.bsky.social#TheDeathofRobinHood sidesteps the feel-good catharsis of the traditional Merry Men tale leaving #HughJackman's Logan-esque final chapter of Robin Hood as a stark reflection on the brutality behind the myth.

@insertmontage.comWith heavy hints of Logan to it, #TheDeathOfRobinHood veers between poignant & ponderous in its revised take on Robin Hood. At its best, it’s an affecting, ultra-violent evisceration of a heroic legend & at its worst, it’s a plodding, glacially paced grim-fest that struggles to justify its run time
@robertcashin.bsky.social#TheDeathOfRobinHood. After decades of brutality, violence and murder, Robin Hood finds a measure of peace, stability and sanctuary after a battle he barely survived. But the the past is always there and how it translates to legend is not always correct.
Oh those audiences that go to see one kind

@marksearby.comTHE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD is now in UK cinemas. Being originally from Nottinghamshire I was looking forward to this new film on the legend. But it's achingly dull, even with Hugh Jackman in the lead role.

@shortreviewsblog.bsky.socialMy review on The Death of Robin Hood. It's a bit of a relentless slog, but also, for me, strangely compelling. Review below 👇

@paulkleinyo.bsky.social#TheDeathofRobinHood is a slow march to death but it’s a beautiful film punctuated by an incredibly moving sequence, anchored by a fully committed performance by Hugh Jackman. I was entranced by it even when I felt it was a little too sombre. Brutal but beautiful
@marksearby.comMy film reviews this week include an older version of a British legend, a buddy comedy in Russia and a real-time film running through London.
