Nothing wrong with hers; she does her squats and has gotten over her disdain for high-cut outfits, and can shake her cottontail with the best of them, but it had been different that first year, when everyone was still getting used to the Bunny Bomb having changed the whole town to pretty girls with subliminal messages telling them to dress like this. A lot of former guys, especially, were unsure about all the bare skin, especially as summer turned to fall, and feeling isolated as the blockade went on.

Signs declaring September as Booty Appreciation Month went up anonymously, reminding everyone to compliment each other's butts and that "appreciation" did not mean non-consensual slapping. It seemed like an uncomfortable joke, but Kaitlyn (still going by "Blake") found she really appreciated the validation, especially coming from within the community.

The second year was still fun, even if it was less grassroots, with a proclamation from City Hall, official events, and local merchants tying in, even as the city was starting to open; outsiders didn't really get it. But this third year, there were brands, competitions, and worst of all, tourists!

Like, just now, she was doing a little spin to show some friends an outfit, and some rando had just taken a snap and was probably going to put it up on Instagram like it was Mardi Gras or something! It's like people had all forgotten the true meaning of Booty Appreciation Month!

He'd been grateful, when he discovered he had the same rare blood disease as his Aunt Anny, that she could potentially cure it with the same nanotech treatment she created for herself, but his scan was corrupted and a flare-up meant she had to use her own scan as a template, making Steve her double. Unfortunately, she didn't have the materials to make more once his scan was restored, so she was off looking to buy them on the black market, while Steve posed as her for her work (fortunately, there wasn't as much R&D as management going on at the moment). Unfortunately she seems to be relishing being away from work too much, and is dragging her feet, and Steve can't think of any way to get her to come back other than maybe giving her a bad reputation!

Most of the members stayed away after their first taste of femininity, but John discovered something about himself - or herself, as the case may be.

With the sale pending, Wendy has been spending as much time in the club as possible, even sleeping there, since what was inflicted by a curse cannot be magically given by choice later, so she's hoping to rack up more time. Neither she nor the witches is particularly good at math, so they're not sure how long this will last beyond it not being linear. She thinks she's got a good 20 or 30 years racked up, but given how youthful she looks, she'd like to get to twice that, just to be safe!

That's because these ladies were all infected with an experimental gender-change virus. Lisbeth wasn't part of the team behind it - that was Dana Jones, in the modest brown dress - but she was a good spokesperson, conversant in the science but not defensive. She was the one who figured they should be kind of in-your-face, showing up together and dressing to draw attention, to show how surprisingly content they were considering most were cis/het before. Today, they were supporting Ellie in orange, who had presented a paper on how, since the incident, many more people were willing to identify as bisexual or nonbinary.

Many of the group would rather not be so flagrant, but they often felt the need counter Franz Schmidt, who acted like becoming a sexy, youthful blonde girl was the worst thing that could happen to a man, going on every right-wing podcast and a surprising number of mainstream outlets to stoke conspiracy theories about how this proves they were trying to wipe out real men, yes somehow never explaining why he didn't use the university's settlement to transition back. As much as most would like to return to living the quiet life of dedicated academics, his crazy rantings got a lot more traction with the public than their more positive attitudes, and it was taking increasingly large public gestures and smaller outfits to counter his constant idiocy!

Felix expected some strangeness when he married into a family of mad scientists. Becky was the smartest, funniest, kindest person he knew, but Lizzie was stubborn, lazy, and brilliant enough to get away with it, though that's not what Felix had mean to imply when he said it was just putting the work in at the gym after a compliment on a double date. Still, it was easier in her mind to create a nanotech that unraveled brains and transferred them between crania via a tube on the nose than committing a couple hours a week, letting Felix work out in her body while she was back at the lab. To be fair, considering the sisters' work, he was surprised it took this long to end up female or in someone else's body, and was glad Lizzie trusted him.

He didn't expect how Becky reacted, though; she knew it was Felix in there, but it could feel like spending time with her sister but without the competition and resentment, and she sometimes treated him more like Lizzie than Felix. For instance, she definitely would have discussed something like this with her husband but always felt she knew what was best for her sister, who hadn't talked with their mother in a decade, what with her hiding in her volcanic island lair when Lizzie graduated high school.

Felix adds that this won't work, but Becky says not to worry - just like working out, Lizzie will happily reap the benefits of Felix's work!
