Another alternative is to remove #StatePension from taxation and set an earnings allowance as with other benefits and have a certain reduction rate above that for any given amount of earnings, maybe 20%.

Another option for avoiding the allowance for those on #StatePension would be to reatore the #agerelatedallowances abolished a decade ago.
