Something almost spectral about Irina standing silently outside the Chief Designer’s house. Irina is a human being, & a sympathetic one, but this almost feels like the moment when she began to turn into the hard & ruthless woman we saw in For All Mankind, giving herself over to the State. #StarCity

Occasionally, #StarCity sends a little ray of humour through even the direst of circumstances. Imagine being a Soviet farmer & finding this among the lupins!

Half-way through STAR CITY, and finding this a slog... Too many British accents in soapy waffle, not a worthwhile FAM spin-off, and one of the cosmonauts looks distractingly like Jonathan Pie (so I keep expecting him to start sweary ranting about the Soviet state).

#StarCity creates tension not with a loud score or hectic pacing, but through quiet scenes, often with no music at all, never losing sight of the humanity of its characters & the quiet oppression they live under.
