My beautiful village in rural Italy was violated a few days ago. A house broken into! So sad, and scary for the residents, most of whom are elderly.

Early afternoon in a tiny village in rural Italy.
There are less than a dozen residents, but where are they?
Maybe hiding behind shutters...watching the stranger in town.

This person in my videos...the one I write about...it's me! Not my shadow, not my imagination...its really me!
Finished my lovely day in Ascoli at a mouthwatering food truck. The aromas of porchetta, chicken, and Italian sausage were tantalizing.
Life is deliciously good in Italy.
My book 'Speak Slowly, Please I'm English' is the story of a Brit (me) living in America, and then retiring to Italy.
It is a goofy, fun...and sometimes tearful story. Things didn't always go as planned.

Shop till you drop...its my addiction! At 69 I should be over it...but I'm not!

Talking Italian...I try! I practice every day, but I don't think it will ever sound good coming out of my mouth!
Wine o clock came early today....driven to it!
Oh those renovations!
Being bossed around by and Italian bathroom designer...and fighting back the best I can.
Could this be a declaration of normality...did you read my book?
No one could every declare me normal!

2026 was one of the most challenging years of my life, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now...and I'm running towards it.
Tall Italian wardrobes.
How do petite Italian women use them?
Yes...my mouth is out of control. It just keeps moving. I'm a storyteller and I just can't help myself.
Today I made a very special sausage and tomato ragù. I let hubby taste it and give his opinion...he said it was INTERESTING. He almost wore it!

Travel while you still have the energy....
Anyone for a mushroom?
Just when you think you've tried it all...Italy surprises you again.
I was a stranger when I first walked the hidden steps and alleyways of this small Italian village. Then I became a friend...and the local ladies shared their recipes, and stories with me. Magical.

Yes...I thought I may die this year...there, I've said it. I survived though, and here I am.
Large as life, and twice as ugly!
Welcome to the BATCAVE...yes, us Brits keep the local Italians amused. They love to watch our antics.
Majella National Park in Abruzzo is a wonderful place to visit. Full of beautiful, colorful, villages with rambling piazzas and quaint restaurants.
