The @ec.europa.eu President's #SOTEU2026 was clear: structurally high energy prices and growing trade imbalances were threatening Europe’s ability to remain an industrial powerhouse. At the same time, it reaffirmed the EU will stay the course on delivering its climate ambition.

📍 The focus on #SingleMarket, energy & access to capital set in #SOTEU2026 is welcome.

But EU businesses won't judge the competitiveness agenda by its ambition, but by whether it becomes easier to invest, innovate & grow in Europe.
