The implementation status of the Draghi Report on competitiveness. Needless to say, it is not good at all. Not so sure the tension between a very steep budget increase and the costs of poor competitiveness will keep the patience. Condition budget approval on immediate progress... #EU ##SingleMarket

📍 The focus on #SingleMarket, energy & access to capital set in #SOTEU2026 is welcome.

But EU businesses won't judge the competitiveness agenda by its ambition, but by whether it becomes easier to invest, innovate & grow in Europe.

#SingleMarket

The Commission wants quality to carry at least 30% of tender scores — and 50% in labour-intensive public contracts. Price-only awards would still be possible where buyers explain how specifications or contract conditions guarantee quality. #PublicProcurement #SingleMarket

#SingleMarket - Better labour mobility - People should be able to work across Europe with their social rights protected and their qualifications recognised faster. Businesses should be able to recruit the talent they need with less paperwork, fewer delays ec.europa.eu/commission/p... #futureOfEurope

📍 Europe has the strengths to lead, but it must act faster.

At the European Foundry Federation annual meeting, our President Sandra Parthie called for urgent actions:

âś… Less red tape
âś… Affordable energy
âś… A stronger #SingleMarket
âś… Faster innovation

Good job there aren't German co's which have benefitted from #EU #SingleMarket that could suddenly find it's much harder to do business (no legal impediments). Will #AFD appreciate such a "drama"? Am assuming corporate Germany would have the cojones to publicly blame Weidl for such problems..

Busy today on our #Leeds city centre street stall. EuroMonitor (Brexitometer) shows huge support for #RejoinEU and #SingleMarket.

Little faith in future of #Farage, but unanimous support for RNLI.

A photo of a 'EuroMonitor' poll posted by Leeds for Europe. Participants voted using colored dot stickers across five questions with 'Yes', 'No', and 'Don't know' columns. Questions asking if Labour should pledge to rejoin the EU, if the UK should join the single market, if participants would vote to rejoin the EU, and if the RNLI should continue rescuing everyone at risk of drowning all show massive clusters of stickers in the 'Yes' column. A question asking if Nigel Farage can politically survive recent allegations shows a large majority of stickers in the 'No' column.

As for their comments about only a #Reform government can reverse Britian's decline. Well they caused it all by their monumentally stupid decision to force Britain to leave the #singleMarket. Ruining our access to nearest trade partner... They wanted to escape the EU tax avoidance directive.

A company could keep official credentials in one European Business Wallet and use it with administrations across the EU. ITRE wants use to remain voluntary for businesses, but public authorities would have to accept the wallet. #DigitalIdentity #SingleMarket

EU procurement reform has broad backing for moving public contracts beyond lowest-price awards. But S&D wants stronger, binding social and environmental safeguards, while Renew focuses on simpler SME access and targeted preference for European suppliers. #PublicProcurement #SingleMarket
