San Diego is now on the edge of the National Hurricane Center's warning cone for Tropical Storm Rachel. But the center notes: "Hazardous conditions can occur outside of the cone." The weather service says Rachel, combined with high tides, could cause some coastal flooding. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

The weather service has a harder time predicting weather coming up from the southwest, like Tropical Storm Rachel. There aren't many prior examples, nor weather stations down there. But forecasters are increasingly confident S.D. County will get soaked starting late Saturday. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

It’s a beautiful, warm night for playoff baseball at Petco. 81 degrees, clear and no wind, other than the breeze created by the rally towels. #Padres #CAwx #sandiegoweather

One more scorcher? The weather service expects San Diego to hit 91 today for the 6th straight day. Thursday's high is forecast to be "only" 89 - still 14 degrees above normal. If the city hits 91 today, it would tie the daily record high set in 1951. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

San Diego reached 93° today - not a daily record. But several other spots in the county did set or tie records. Not setting records today but still very hot: Poway, 106; Santee, 105; Fallbrook, 103; Valley Center, 102; Rancho Bernardo, La Mesa, 101; Lemon Grove, 100. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

San Diego's official weather station at the airport has hit 92°. It's the fifth straight day of 92 or hotter. The weather service expects Wednesday to reach 90. Normal high this time of year is 75. Besides blazing afternoons, the nights are setting records for highest minimum. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

Yet another record-setting day in San Diego County. For the city of San Diego, it's the 4th straight day that set or tied a daily high record. With highs in the 90s expected Tuesday & Wednesday, this could go down as the city's hottest first week of October in its history. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

The record heat just keeps on coming. The inland valleys should be back near or over 100 both Monday and Tuesday. The weather service expects San Diego to cool off a little but still be in the low 90s both days. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

San Diego officially topped out at 105° on Saturday. It broke the daily record of 104 set in 1987. It's the 6th hottest day in city history & hottest it's been in town since 1988. Vista hit 108. Many other spots set records for either highest maximum, highest minimum or both. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

Hotober: Another month, another round of heat. Sunday should cool off, but just a degree or 2. The inland valleys should remain around 100° through at least next Wednesday. The weather service has issued an extreme heat warning for 10 a.m. Friday to 8 p.m. next Thursday. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

San Diego ended September with an average temperature of 74.8°, 3.1° warmer than normal. It was the 8th warmest September on record, going back 152 years. The city has been warmer than normal every month this year. The 0.02 of an inch of rain recorded was 0.10 below normal. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

Almost all of the moisture from former Hurricane Odalys that was flowing flowing over San Diego County is now southeast of the county and moving northeast. Meanwhile, Hurricane Polo should hit the Baja coast today with sustained winds of around 115 mph. #Polo #sandiegoweather #CAwx

@eyesonsdskies.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 2:42 PM

Clouds that have spun off from Hurricane Odalys should be with us through this afternoon, says the weather service. Rain has mostly been confined to southern San Diego County. It should cool off a few degrees today, then start warming up again. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

San Diego didn't exactly get drenched last night, but the 0.02 of an inch of rain recorded at the city's official weather station at the airport is the first measurable rain in town in nearly 4 months. The last time the city got more than a trace was May 29, also 0.02. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

We're getting a light shower here in inland North County a little after 9 p.m. Only a few spots in southern San Diego County have recorded measurable rain today. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

Chance of rain today, mainly in southeastern San Diego County. My brother out in Jamul says he got a few minutes of rain earlier this morning. The weather service says the cloudiness is due to moisture spinning off Hurricane Odalys hundreds of miles to the south-southwest. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

The weather service’s Miguel Miller sends this super sunset shot tonight from Carmel Mountain. #sandiegoweather #CAwx

It’s another beautiful night for baseball at Petco as the playoff-bound Pads face the D-backs. Clear skies and 73 degrees. #sandiegoweather #Padres #CAwx

It was a fine day to keep eyes on the skies in San Diego County. Low clouds cleared at the beach in Encinitas in the afternoon, when the tide was low. On the return inland, massive thunderheads put on a show over the mountains and desert. #sandiegoweather #CAwx
