(6/6) Each year, I still hope for a moment that doesn't require a tragedy, where we can just spend a moment together as Americans.

(6/6) Each year, I still hope for a moment that doesn't require a tragedy, where we can just spend a moment together as Americans.
(5/6) I don't have a tidy way to end this. I just know there are families who lost someone that morning, first responders who are still sick from it, and a lot of people carrying weight most of us will never understand.
(4/6) Looking back, it might be one of the only times in my life there were no Democrats and no Republicans, just Americans.
(3/6) In the end, we sent people home, and we stayed closed the next day while everyone tried to process what had happened. We had a lot of friends in the industry, so it hit close to home in more ways than one.
(2/6) Then someone rolled a TV into the cafeteria, and we all watched together as the second plane hit. That's when we knew the United States was under attack. Nobody knew what to do. We were all in shock.
On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we honor and remember those who were lost, those who served, and those whose lives were forever changed.
Today, we pause beneath the same sky to remember.
Today marks 25 years since the 9/11 attacks. I am honored to join National September 11 Memorial & Museum in remembrance and share this picture of the sky in Fennimore, Wisconsin, today to help a new generation of Americans

September 11th, 2001. I keep reflecting on my vague memories from that day, & my past visits to the memorial & museum in 2017 & 2022. I think about the victims. I think about the ripple effect that day continues to have. #CourtneyLeeDesigns #WTC #twintowers #neverforget #NYC #RememberTheSky
It’s the 25th anniversary of the day that changed the world, and my life, forever. I remember the gorgeous blue sky that day.

We just visited the 9/11 memorial and what we keep coming back to, 25 years later, is how many people didn’t think twice—they ran toward the towers to help people they would never know. Humanity at its best. Who we want to honor and how we want to be.
Tonight, in coordination with @911memorial.bsky.social, BBG’s Eastern Parkway entrance will be lit blue to #RememberTheSky, recalling the clear blue color of the sky on that September morning, shining a light on all who responded, those we lost, and all who will never forget.
I took this photo in September '91 from the top of the South Tower the old fashioned way - camera and film.
I didn't know what I had until I got the photos back from the developer.
I have other photos of the Towers but this one has always stuck with me
