Day 1148 #recordsontheshelf #musicchallenge #vinylsky #vinyl A 1979 issue of Emmy Lou Harris' debut album. She has disavowed this album, and it certainly isn't where she would get, but it is a good listen for academic reasons if nothing else.

Blue cover with black titles with a grinning Emmy.

white back cover with short essay and song credits

Day 1146 #recordsontheshelf #musicchallenge #vinylsky #vinyl My second favourite Emmylou Harris album? Quite likely. Glad to pick up a near-perfect copy the other day.

Cover of White Shoes- Emmy sits on a bench, her feet propped on a guitar case.

Day 1145 #recordsontheshelf #musicchallenge #vinylsky #vinyl Unlike yday's discovery, no disappointment here. I still can't quite believe I liquidated my Emmy collection in 2012/13. Glad to have Sally Rose back. If pressed, the album I would choose as my favourite from Emmylou Harris. Just stellar.

Cream coloured cover of The Ballad of Sally Rose- Emmylou appears in a cameo shaped picture surrounded by a loop of roses and leaves.

back cover- Emmy is pictured in a small full-body shot wearing white while playing a pink guitar. Song titles and notes in black.

Day 1144 #recordsontheshelf #musicchallenge #vinylsky #vinyl First spotted this two-album set five months ago, but passed b/c it was missing the second record. Yday I found it again, got excited, & bought it. Got home to discover it is the same copy I passed on previously. Sigh. Things are slipping!

Front cover of Murray McLauchlan Live at the Orpheum. The artist sits on a darkened stage playing his guitar.

Inner gatefold with black bars with song titles, credits, and upcoming concert dates. The stage is illuminated and shown from an upper row.

Day 1143 #recordsontheshelf #musicchallenge #vinylsky #vinyl I had never knowingly seen this collection prior to this summer when I found a rather used & abused copy. Today, found one with the vinyl in much better condition. Pure pop for not-so-now people. I love the design by Neko Chohlis.

The Monkees Greatest Hits- brown cover with orange text including all song titles

The first Paul Kelly record I picked up back in the '80s. Some 20 years later Paul signed it while doing a small six song set at Main Street Music in Philadelphia, PA.

Day 1142 #recordsontheshelf #musicchallenge #vinylsky #vinyl Found this record a couple months ago, and have debated whether I needed to add to the collection. Gave another listen today and the decision is made. A very enjoyable recording. What do you think?

Front gatefold of Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue; the artist is pictured bearded wearing a blue t-shirt and white pants. Front cover art seldom gets this lazy.

Inside gatefold showing mostly colour pictures of the artist.

Inner sleeve, white with black print- song lyrics.

Paul Kelly is in my Top 5 musicians! Such a great singer/songwriter. A legend in Australia, but not that well known in the U. S. Just so consistently good album after album. Take a listen to "Dumb Things" or "To Her Door."

Day 1141 #recordsontheshelf #musicchallenge #vinylsky #vinyl I already had a copy of this, but in very rough shape. So when I tripped across this gleaming copy the other day, I didn't hesitate. An interesting record for the Gentry completist & folks with a hankering for the old-timey rootsy stuff.

Back cover- shows the continuation of the front cover- a river and brush along the show with song titles

Front cover with a painting of Robbie Benson and Glynnis O'Connor standing by the Tallahassee Bridge.
