Today is a big day for Herb! It's built into Rails 8.2 by default for all HTML+ERB views.

My talk at #RailsWorld in Austin today answered three questions: What is Herb? What ships in Rails 8.2? And what does this enable?

Herb v0.11 and ReActionView v0.6 released alongside it.

#railsworld we talk about ai / self driving like its free. like everyone can afford self driving cars and every community can afford data centers and their impact. safety is not the only aspect of transportation. what about access?

#railsworld ems are used to vibe coding - we have been vibe coding with organic intelligence for years. love it.

#railsworld we are speaking about this without mentioning that we use our skills to feed our families. like programming is cool, ai is ai, many of us are here to get money for food and shelter for those who rely on us. how does that fit into this conversation?

I put in some more thought into what DHH shared, and I think it might make sense to use AI with Rust or Native UI languages like C++ and Swift.

Very interesting day of discussions at #railsworld! Introduced a few folks to JRuby, talked with some current users I did not know, even found one shop that only does JRuby. A bit sad to see folks struggling with problems JRuby solves. Hard to get the word out!
