Rae knows how to swim—it was one of the more fun and lighthearted things his father taught him—and loves it.
Swimming makes him feel free and nigh weightless, especially when swimming in the sea. He often wonders just how vast and deep these beautifully treacherous waters are.

Rae was not and still isn't immune to Yurgir's savagery, Yurgir calling him "little rabbit," and—well, there's the fact that he is a monsterfucker.
It did not help that Yurgir fought Raphael with Rae and the others, and that after the fight Yurgir made certain suggestions. (1/2)

Depending on the situation, Rae may show his crush his humorous and playful side, and become a bit of a brat testing limits.
Or he is incredibly honest and—to him—frighteningly caring towards this person he holds affection for, and wants to know all there is about them. (1/2)

Rae is the spitting image of his father, albeit a bit taller, broader, and paler, which comes from his mother's side.
He idiolizes his father a lot and often raves about the man's knowledge and curiosity, and how he would always strive to find a solution for everything. (1/3)

Rae isn't gullible at all. In fact, he's so sceptical and cynical that he at times puts a blockade in his own way with it. Even so, he finds that this way is the healthiest and safest path since trusting people—be it their words or intentions—more often than not is a fool's errand.

I have really big brain rot about Rae and Ares (Hades I/II), and none of the thoughts I'm having are safe or sane. And you know what? Good.
As for in-universe, I once joked about Rae having a fling with the real Dribbles... a truly horrific and terrific thought all at once.

Due to his childhood as a child slave/soldier and his mercenary word, Rae's initial background is Soldier.
However, I've been playing with the thought of also giving him (or changing his background) to Sage, seeing as knowledge and curiosity is a core part of him as well.

Rae would enjoy the activity of drawing itself since it's one of his favourite pastimes, but he wouldn't particularly like it in a class considering how loud things can get—and he dislikes too much noise. That said, he's quite good at zoning out when drawing. (1/2)

Rae doesn't flirt often, but once his hard-to-gain interest is piqued, he flirts through a mix of his dulcet voice, his intense eyes, and his snappy wit.

Rae has a bounty on his head in a fiefdom in Turmish, where, under contract, he killed a village's god—never mind that this "god" was a deranged wizard.
Other than that, he's wanted in a few places for obstruction of justice, arson, indecent exposure, and drunken disorderly conduct.

Astarion's traumas flare up during moments when he expects it as much as during those when he doesn't. Rae knows from his own traumas that shutting down and attempting to ignore it all is a common solution, and he knows from their early days that Astarion is prone (1/4)

Both! Rae doesn't play favourites when it comes to animals... except for axe beaks.
That said, he definitely has a deeper connection towards dogs and finds them easier to handle, seeing as he was forced to sleep amongst them in a dog pen for over a decade during his childhood.

The infernal magic Rae uses causes his left eye to shift colours, ranging from a deep maroon and to its natural emerald, to which it slowly reverts without spell usage. This takes several weeks though. If the spell Rae uses is powerful enough, his sclera also turns black. (1/2)
