I really wanted to get at least one fic out for #MagicianHuskWeek2026! So here's a short one for Day 6: Coin. Alastor just wants to see Husk do his little tricks for some entertainment. No underhanded reason at all. :) and yes it's #radiohusk 🦌🐈

Summary:
Husk balanced the coin across his knuckles, felt its rhythm, noting the soft rust left behind on his fur. He flipped it upwards, then had it land on the heart-shaped palm of his hand.

"Is it a trick," he started, musing on the weight in his hand. "Or a wager you're looking for?"

Alastor's eyes gave a soft flash. The demon never liked to just be straightforward.

Alastor wants Husk to perform his old magic tricks. For old time's sake.

"The hell did you do to this one?"

"Why, it's my lucky coin! Had it since I was alive, and was always in my pocket whenever another job was successfully well done. Don't tell me you don't have such a thing yourself, my good man."

"In case you didn't notice, I don't feel so lucky lately."

Alastor was leaning one elbow on the counter, his grin as wide as it always was. He pressed his claw tip over the coin at an angle, making it flip upward before he caught it with his hand. The glint of its travel caught Husk's gaze before it was whisked away.

"How well can you use another's tools of the trade instead of your own?" Alastor held up the coin between two claws to Husk's nose. "Let's find out!"

Alastor was so annoying. Husk rolled his eyes. "As long as you don't make this explode in my face."

"Haha! How devilish!"

Of course, that wasn't a no.
