And he answers questions - without hedging.

Danielle Smith didn’t answer the question on “PnP” about Jason Stephen who said he’s voted that he would leave Canada staying in her caucus. She hedged. Again, pressing her, asking how she could have an MLA who is a separatist staying in her caucus - more hedging - no honest reply.

Watched the Katie Simpson segment from Milwaukee on “P&P”. US trade rep Jamieson Greer saying at the G20 Trade ministers meeting that “the door is always open” to Canada to make a deal.
What he doesn’t say is that it’s a trap door.

Interesting to hear Kevon Stewart United Steelworkers Ontario Director interviewed about the situation with Stelco & the layoffs. A massive disappointment about Cleveland Cliffs & worry for the workers but on a positive note he’s hopeful about possibility in new projects in Canada.

One thing about the “realness” of Bob Fife that I appreciate - he doesn’t talk above his audience - he makes you feel part of his conversation. He expresses the same shock & amazement that most of us do when discussing these issues. Calling Trump “the guy” is but one example.

Friday’s Political Pulse panel on “Power & Politics” is always insightful with intelligent conversation, and while the topics can be very serious, much of the discussion is delivered lightheartedly. It’s the most satisfying way to end the week.

Bob Rae’s interview on “Power & Politics” gives me hope about the challenge we face. We have intelligent minds who know how to explain, encourage, reassure, inspire, to lay bare the facts, to not be misled, to keep our eyes open to threat, to learn to be resilient. To not give up.
