Town situated in a fertile valley leading to the sea and surrounded by mountains. Big climbing/hiking area. Plenty of accommodation, restaurants and bars. Characterful and off the main tourist routes.

Easy day trip from Nafplio. Not traffic free like its neighbour Hydra but close.
Much more touristy and commercial as a popular place to visit for Athenians.
Accessible via ferry or water taxi. If you’re on foot, get the Kosta crossing.
