My first oil paintings since GCSE… I didn’t manage to do the last course I wanted to cos dad’s funeral coincided, so it’s fitting that this first “go” happens to be where he, I and my bro spent about every summer holiday after mum died when we were kids - the lovely Lamorna Cove… #painting #oils

That distinctive little headland and the greeny-blue depths of Lamorna - with a creamy blue sky and mainly wispy clouds but one little poofy cloud echo above the rock formation - as pretty much predicted, I am OIL PAINT up to the eyebrows… I shall never be clean againTurning to the left, the top of the valley, with Heather and all those rocks and all the detail I despaired of even attempting as a kid… The Cove is beautiful… and this course is brilliant…
