Dr. Kevin Glover in Spokane is one of over a hundred doctors and medical professionals who oppose the harmful I-638.

White text boxes are on top of a purple-filtered photo of teen girl kicking a soccer ball. The first text box says: Spokesman Review Letter to the Editor: Pelvic Exams in Girls Sports. The Author is listed as Kevin Glover, MD, Spokane, WA. The second text box quotes the letter to the editor: “The pelvic exam proposal is especially perverse. All major organizations (ACOG, AAFP, USPSTF, AMSSM) advise against routine pelvic exams for asymptomatic adolescent females. Heywood’s dangerous idea risks direct harm to Washington’s girls; let them play without expensive tests or invasive exams.” A dark purple footer with white text says Vote NO on I-638.

The fact is, Washington sports physical forms and sports eligibility forms do not require children to be genitally inspected or sex certified. I-638 will change that by instituting a new, strict requirement that all girls be sex inspected.

John Lovick, former Snohomish Sheriff and retired WA State Patrol officer, told The Gee and Ursula Show why he's adamant about voting no on I-001 this November.

He points out that I-001 is so badly written that it actually weakens parents' rights. Vote NO on I-001 this November. #NoHateWAState

There's many issues we should be talking about when it comes to women's sports, yet as Naomi Ishisaka highlights in her Seattle Times column, the focus remains on trans girls in sports.

A screenshot of an article from The Seattle Times is on a dark orange background. The headline says: What new ‘Ted Lasso’ season gets right about women’s sports. Below the headline, an excerpt from the article reads: McCleery noted that when people bring up trans athletes, they often point to safety, fairness or accessibility. If they want to discuss those things, she said, we should talk about all the issues relating to them. “There are major safety issues for women in sport because of the under-researched issues, and there are safety issues related to abuse and sexual misconduct because we don’t invest in coach training or do coach background checks,” she said. “There are so many things that we could be addressing … But we’re focused entirely on something else, and I think it’s really detrimental to women’s sports.” A red footer with white text says “Vote NO on I-638”

“It’s horrifying that [my granddaughter] would be required to undergo an inspection of her private parts, exposing the areas of her body we teach kids to protect, just to play tee-ball or soccer," writes Katie Johnson in The Daily Herald.

November ballot initiatives I-001 & I-638 will threaten the safety of all Washington students.

I-001 puts kids at greater risk of abuse, while I-638 could force invasive genital exams on girls of any age just to play sports.

A photo shows eight high school students from across an orange-brown school track. The students are mixed gender and race. They are standing in a line looking at the camera, and each teen is holding a sign that says “No Hate in WA State: Vote NO on I-001 & I-638.” Behind the students is a black chain link fence and brown brick wall with ivy growing on it.
