@ntsanctuary.bsky.socialGOOD MORNING - Someone else has a new barrel and the fun has begun!!
@ntsanctuary.bsky.socialHappy #TongueOutTuesday from tigers Amal and Lily!
Pumpkins make fantastic enrichment! The cats love knocking them around, chasing them, sinking their teeth and claws into them, and investigating all those interesting new smells and textures.
@ntsanctuary.bsky.socialNothing like a refreshing hose shower on a hot afternoon!
Amal Tigress knows exactly how to cool off! While her pool is filling with fresh water, she’s more than happy to drink straight from the hose—and enjoy a little splashy shower at the same time.
@ntsanctuary.bsky.socialA tiger’s tongue is covered with tiny backward-facing structures called papillae, which make it feel much rougher than our tongues. That sandpaper-like tongue is especially useful for grooming and removing loose fur. Talk about a built-in hairbrush!
@ntsanctuary.bsky.socialI’m awake… I’m awake… I’m just waiting for the rest of me to get the message.
Mavuto is giving it his best effort, but that great big yawn says he may need just a few more minutes before officially starting his day!
Who else can relate to Mavuto?
@ntsanctuary.bsky.socialThose adorable ears are always listening! Tigers have excellent hearing, and their ears can swivel to help pinpoint where a sound is coming from. Those ears aren’t just cute—they’re an important part of a tiger’s impressive set of senses.

@ntsanctuary.bsky.socialDid you know a tiger’s stripes are more than fur-deep?
A tiger’s skin is striped, too!
Even if you could magically remove all that beautiful fur, you would still see a striped pattern underneath.
And just like our fingerprints, every tiger’s stripe pattern is unique.
@ntsanctuary.bsky.socialYAY, IT’S FRIDAY! - Friday is your invitation to stick out your tongue at the week and pounce into the weekend!
