This was my 2nd close encounter. This time I got within 18 inches and could have gotten closer. The hawk seemed extremely tired or maybe sick.

This is from my first encounter with a bird of prey this close in June 2019. I am sitting on a tree stump about 15 feet from the hawk. The hawk didn't mind me being close as long as I did not go behind it. We sat together for about 10 minutes...
